Foundation & Collective Voice
All Sikkim Mangar Association (ASMA) is a representative organisation established in 1993 with the objective of bringing the Mangar community of Sikkim together and working for the preservation, promotion and development of its distinct cultural identity, traditions and heritage. Since its establishment, the Association has served as an important platform for community organisation, cultural activities and the collective articulation of matters concerning the Mangar community.
HERITAGE
Language & Traditions
The Association has played an important role in promoting Mangar language, literature, traditional customs, rituals, festivals, folk traditions, music, dance and indigenous knowledge. Through workshops, literary publications, and youth engagement programs, ASMA actively works to safeguard ancient roots while encouraging linguistic and artistic development across districts.
Unity & Cultural Awareness in Contemporary Sikkim
Today, the Association continues to provide a common platform for community unity, cultural preservation, social awareness and the promotion of Mangar heritage. Its continuing activities reflect the broader aspiration of the Mangar community to preserve its ancestral identity while contributing constructively to the social, cultural, and civic life of Sikkim.
